This page is an explanation and demonstration of ClearSail's Family.Net filtering solution. We perform all tasks of research & development, engineering, and processes of our filtering product, and do not rely on subcontractors which may not maintain our philosophy and high quality in filtering. We estimate that we currently filter approximately 6 Million webpages, and are adding about thousands per day. There are 4 elements of effective filtering: (1) URL (domain name) Keyword Blocking; (2) Search Keyword Blocking; (3) URL (domain name) Specific Site Blocking, . (4) Known Websites Hosting Pornography.

1. URL Keyword Blocking: Family.Net maintains a list of keyword that in the event the word is contained within the domain, it will result in a block message being returned to the user.

In this case, the keyword "babes" will return a block flag. (i.e. www.ab-cd.com/hotbabes.htm)

2. Search Keyword Blocking: We also maintain a list of over 900 keywords and phrases that are not able to be searched. This is a graphical example of what would return a block message to the user: In this case, the keyword "porn" would normally return 1000 pornographic websites from this search engine; however, Family.Net will return a block message to the user.

3. URL Specific Site Blocking: Family.Net currently maintains hundreds of thousands of websites that contain subject matter on pornography; sex; weapons; suicide; occult; public chat; message boards; crime; violence; violent sports; drugs, alcohol & tobacco; adult humor; tastelessness; discrimination & hate; free eMail services (which allow children to obtain addresses without parental consent); and other dangerous subject matters. Family.Net's technology can detect changes in webserver names and individual pages. For example:

4. Known Websites That Host Pornography: Family.Net blocks access to several hundred webhosting companies that either host pornography or do not adequately review the content of their customers. Any website that a Family.Net customer wishes review will be made promptly and without charge.
